Have you ever stumbled upon a listing of artwork, photos, or songs and thought to yourself “I wish I could download all of these, but having to click them one-by-one is too much”? This software category is here to the rescue! These apps allow you to download content in batches from countless websites, and with the ability to set custom rulesets and parameters to downloading behavior, to boot!

  1. JDownloader is a download manager, written in Java, which allows automatic download of groups of files from one-click hosting sites. JDownloader supports the use of premium accounts. Some parts, but not all, of JDownloader are open-source.

  2. DownThemAll (or just dTa) is a powerful yet easy-to-use browser extension for Firefox, Chrome and Opera that adds new advanced download capabilities to your browser.


  3. GNU Wget is a free software package for retrieving files using HTTP(S) and FTP, the most widely-used Internet protocols. It is a non-interactive command line tool, so it may easily be called from scripts, cron jobs, terminals without X-Windows support, etc.
  4. Youtube-DLG is a program to download videos from YouTube and a other sites.

  5. Android, BSD, Linux, and Windows open source multimedia download manager.

  6. Sonarr (formerly NzbDrone) is a PVR for Usenet and BitTorrent users. It can monitor multiple RSS feeds for new episodes of your favorite shows and will grab, sorts and renames them.
  7. pyLoad is a fast, lightweight and full featured download manager for many One-Click-Hoster, container formats like DLC, video sites or just plain http or ftp links. It aims for low hardware requirements and platform independence to be runnable on all kind of systems.
  8. FreeRapid Downloader is a simple Java downloader that supports downloading from Rapidshare and other file-sharing services.

  9. Motrix is a full-featured download manager that supports downloading HTTP, FTP, BitTorrent, Magnet, Baidu Net Disk, etc.
  10. Cyotek WebCopy is a free tool for copying full or partial websites locally onto your harddisk for offline viewing.
