What is Worktable?

Worktable is an open-source, file-based app for people and their existing AI agents to work with the same documents, data and interactive tools.

It supports Markdown and rich-text documents, comments and version history, and structured records stored as YAML. A built-in runtime and data APIs support HTML dashboards, calculators, planners and other small tools. People use and edit these through the interface; connected agents can create and update the same materials through MCP.

Threads support conversations with agents, including an OpenClaw plugin for automatic replies. Workspace contents live in normal files and folders, with export/import across local, self-hosted and managed Cloud installations.

Worktable is free to run locally or self-host under the AGPL-3.0-only license. Managed Cloud is optional. It connects to existing agents rather than supplying its own AI model.
