As other comments mention, this software is filled with advertisements requesting to support the software. If this wasn't bad enough, the UI is so cluttered that you would be better off just running from CLI. It's also outdated and slower than modern alternatives, so with its user-hostile UI and bad performance, I can't give it any higher than 1 star

The best upscaling apps with the most features, although the interface is a bit less intuitive. It has Real-ESRGAN and Real-CUGAN which seem to yield the best results. Also the only app that properly upscales transparent images, all other software will at best slap the old pixelated alpha channel on top. Yes it has popups, but if you are an actual person you should be able close them without malding into unexistence. If this wasn't open source, people wouldn't mald as much. But it surely it is better that this is open source, right?
This program used to be very good, but unfortunately, the developer decided to make the Window even bigger, catering to "tablet" users, with no option to go back (You can't shrink the window manually and the fonts look like they are not in scale at all and the font size feature is now declared "broken" by the author), and the big one
Constant Popups Begging To support the software.
Like, I had to block this software on my firewall because every time it loads, it's constantly finding who the top supporters are on patreon and then nags you the second it retrieves this info. It also nags you after nearly everything you do on the program.
Go back to only opening on the "support patreon" page and nothing more.
Features that used to be free (Like TURNING OFF UPDATE POPUPS), now requires you to have the paid version! Also, almost every new feature that gets added now is behind a paywall.
AlternativeTo needs to update this page and change it from "Free Personal" to "Freemium".

This has worked better for image upscaling than any other application I've used so far. My main issue with it stems from a few things. For one, the UI is incredibly cluttered—not difficult to navigate and understand, but just cluttered with buttons all over the place, some of which can't even be used without paying for their premium version of the program. That leads me into my next gripe: every time I open the application, I am greeted with popups asking for donations. I understand that there will be requests for donations, seeing as I'm using the free version of the program, but the way they go about it is intrusive and hurts the users experience.
Many Upscale algorithms can be used with this program alone like Video2X and Cupscale. It's nice.
However, it is slow even if I use high-end graphic card. There seems to be a problem with the software.
Andwhen you open the program, it beg for sponsorship in Chinese. When you finished upscaling, it beg again.
Begging for money from open source software... cute, but no... terribly slow even with a RTX 3090 and bad GUI. CMD versions work faster.
