Viewnior
Very simple and fast image viewer. No support for IPTC metadata such as image tags/keywords.
What is Viewnior?
Its minimalistic interface provides more screenspace for your images. Among its features are:
Fullscreen & Slideshow Rotate, flip, crop, save, delete images Animation support Browse only selected images Navigation window Set image as wallpaper (only under GNOME, see INSTALL file) Simple interface Configurable mouse actions
Viewnior is inspired by big projects like Eye of Gnome, because of its usability and richness, and by GPicView, because of its lightweight design and minimal interface. So here comes Viewnior - small and light, with no compromise with the quality of its functions.

Said about Viewnior as an alternative
Don't like the side panel on Ristretto that gets confused when I delete images from the folder. Viewnior doesn't have that so moving things around in the folder has no effect.

Fast, proper color handling, and capable of dealing with giant images.
At work we sometimes take automated microscope scans of tissue and afterwards have to stitch this together into one image. This was the only viewer (edit: on Linux!) that could smoothly handle the ultra-resolution PNGs we generated this way.
