TypeNBash is a macOS application that combines a text editor, terminal, file browser, web browser, citation management, and analysis notebook. It allows smooth transitions from a script to its output, from a CSV to an analysis, and from a local to a remote host. It also has an inspector for real-time device monitoring.
The software allows users to type code and Bash commands with syntax highlighting, find and replace, and use a console next to the editor. In a notebook setting, users can send a selection or cell to the console without console input. TypeNBash can be used in both local and remote environments, enabling users to open a folder on their Mac or connect via SSH. It supports remote file browsing and terminal use, with saved connection profiles and various authentication methods.
TypeNBash allows for project creation, initialization of existing folders, or opening a folder as is, with managed project settings. It supports source control, enabling users to inspect diffs, stage files, commit, fetch, and push in local projects and over SSH. Users can log in securely with a GitHub remote API, or use a local email to commit changes. The software is also suitable for data science and analytics, offering the ability to run statistical tests through a simplified interface or R & Python notebooks. It supports research with embedded Markdown previews for writing documents and manuscripts, and a CiteTex extension for retrieving citations. Users can also connect their BYOK LLM for secure and private harnessing. System views are provided for monitoring processor, memory, storage, network, and process activity.
