Is FreeCommander a good alternative to Total Commander?Comments about FreeCommander as an Alternative to Total Commander
FarrukhIts not totally free, but a very good alternative to Total Commander as well as Windows File Explorer. It has almost all the features of TC including the plugins support. Alongside of FC, I am also using Double Commander, which requires more customization than Free Commander in order to make it friendly in Windows. However Double commander is totally free.

Is Multi Commander a good alternative to Total Commander?Comments about Multi Commander as an Alternative to Total Commander
FarrukhNot a bad alternative to TC, but it lacks a good viewer, especially for media files. It does have a Multi Data Viewer, which however fails to display images and videos. In addition, it has very good scripting support and you can do a lot more with writing few lines of script.
0In some ways it's even better.
1Same idea but lots of bugs.

Comments about Double Commander as an Alternative to Total Commander
It looks very similar and can do almost everything that Total Commander can - but it's cross-platform!
A completely free, multi-platform tool is available that serves as an excellent alternative to Total Commander. It offers high customization, including the ability to use plugins (*.wlx, *.wlc, etc.). However, when utilized in Windows, adjustments are needed for a Windows-like experience. In addition, I also use FreeCommander on Windows, which is less customizable but more user-friendly than the previous tool. It also supports Total Commander plugins.
Now this is something worth to use. While I was using TC, it couldn't deal with deleting files with bugged long file names above 256 characters, but that tool did the job without any problems. I recommend!
