What is Tapestry by Rami Alhamad?

Tapestry is a small menu bar app that turns trackpad gestures into actions, without BetterTouchTool. Each gesture is a finger count (3, 4, or 5) and a motion: tap, hold, or a diagonal swipe. Map it to a key (Return, Option, Escape, any shortcut), a Shortcut from the Shortcuts app, or an app or link to open.

Gestures are deliberate by design. Taps need a short, intentional press so resting fingers don't fire, and diagonal swipes must stay within 12 degrees of the diagonal so they never collide with macOS's own swipes.

Tapestry reads raw touches from Apple's private MultitouchSupport framework, the same one BetterTouchTool uses, so a future macOS update could break it. It has no network access and no analytics. Free and open source (MIT). Requires macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon. Signed and notarized by Apple.
