What is Sortio?
Sortio is an AI file organizer for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Drop a folder onto Sortio and it reads each file's contents, renames it intelligently (for example, 20260514 Acme $1,240.pdf), and routes it into the correct folder, creating any missing directories. Plain-English rules ("invoices into Finance, photos into Family") replace the regex-and-rule editor of older automators like Hazel. Sortio runs locally by default, with optional cloud LLMs or bring-your-own-key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, LM Studio).
Sortio also adds Watch Folders with scheduling, semantic search ("find the contract from last March"), undo for every move, and audit logs. Free tier includes 10 AI credits and rule-based sorting on up to 50 files per sort. Pro is $99/year or $14.99/month and lifts that to 5,000 files per run.
