What is Send?
Send lets you share files up to 2,5 GB with end-to-end encryption and a link that automatically expires. So you can keep what you share private and make sure your stuff doesn’t stay online forever.
Send is a fork of Mozilla's discontinued
Firefox Send .
- Forked at Mozilla's last publicly hosted version
- Mozilla & Firefox branding is removed so you can legally self-host
- Kept compatible with ffsend (CLI for Send)
- Dependencies have been updated
- Mozilla's changes since the fork have been selectively merged
- Mozilla's experimental report feature, download tokens, trust warnings and FxA changes are not included

Comments and Reviews
It is open source and seems to work very well. End-to-end encryption, no registration needed, and being a fork of the discontinued Firefox Send, it should be a good software. I only hope, it will not be misused, like what happened to Firefox Send.
unfortunately Send service will be terminated in 26th may 2025 :/
It ended up being sponsored by Thunderbird so the main domain is kept alive! :D Even if it went away others are still hosting it.
Nice but retention time limited to 3 days.
Depend on the server you are using. On their github you have a list of them with the time and size allowed.
Great open source and privacy respecting alternative to WeTransfer, just like it's predecessor Firefox Send was.
Simple, efficient. Upload, give a password and it's done.
It's just Firefox Send but self hostable so there's lots of instances. Perfect if you want to send someone a file.
It is a very useful program, I recommend it.
