Blender vs Rhinoceros opinions
Can't stop laughing. As NURBS was the main concern ("don't use for real life" posted anypoop) and is now fully integrated, what else but snobbery could keep easy-payers wasting money on a proprietary software?
Except the interfarce to control Dimensions, Blender can do everything that Rhino can do + Blender renders life like + Blender functions similar to T spline
Its not a NURBS modeling software
troymcBlender does support NURBS now, but that's not the default.
Blender is a good tool, but it's not based on nurbs surface. I think it only should be used for media creation(game, video footage, movies...), not design product or industrial thing. (NEVER USE this tool for design something have to came out real life)
poly based software not nurbs based
Blender is polygonal modelling software. NURBS features are just timesaver options there.
FreeCAD is a general purpose parametric 3D CAD modeler. The development is completely Open Source (LGPL License).
