Lemmy vs Reddit opinions
56It has all the features you wish reddit had.
Lemmy is Reddit, but better. It's open source, and every instances can be independent OR federated, the moderation is one of the most POWERFUL out of all the federated software (the instance where the content is created can moderate and this will be moderated everywhere, and each instance that federate it can also moderate it for itself. There is just nothing comparable.
Sandro_LinuxIt is similar to reddit but it is open source and has less spam and is much less commercial than reddit and Lemmy is private and modarated
corstarRun by a community of users, not a company
gabruReddit no longer is open source and is centralized. It has fallen prey to the goal of 'maximizing user engagement', rather than creating a truly democratic community. Lemmy fixes that by being open source, decentralized, and therefore necessarily about democratic content aggregation. Additionally, the users in Lemmy are generally highly educated, by which I mean they're well read in politics, are tech savvy, and are kind. There's also dank memes, of course.
architsastamIt's open source, very responsive and has the most comparable active user base to reddit
headlinesDecentralized alternative. Lemmy is faster than Reddit, and just as easy to use.

Quora vs Reddit opinions
Quora might not have all of Reddit's features and versatility, but many people use Reddit as just a Q&A site. For that purpose, Quora is a good alternative.
Quora is for asking and answering questions. Reddit is for finding and sharing interesting things on the web.
Quora is spinach, Reddit is cake, one is just question and answers (like Yahoo answers), the other you go to in order to have fun
tihedomecuQuora is a pro LTTE terrorist site. they have a large number of pro LTTE individuals who attack sri lanka while openly displaying the flag of a banned terrorist organization (banned By both US, and UK). Also when you visit quora from sri lanka, the you are automatically redirected to the tamil language page instead of the english page. Majority of people in sri lanka don't use tamil, but sinhalese.
Quora does not appear to have a link-sharing function which is the primary use of reddit
