Comments and Reviews
Developed by System76 this Ubuntu based fork provides a very clean experience. It just works with a modern minimalist design and as a Information Science person this has been huge for my productivity.
I wanted to like it. I believed they tuned for hardware and fixed Linux. I updated to latest PopOs!. But Linux delight not happened.
Touchpad issue, sound issues, power saving issues, monitor issues, sleep issues, UI lags issues.
And what is bad. I cannot fix that using some well known guides or known desktop of Plasma/Gnome 4. Because they modified it.
I plan to erase PopOs! on weekend.
Pop!_OS is a stable, customizable, and reliable Ubuntu-based distribution that aims to cater to professionals from all fields - STEM, Media Production, or the average home user. I switched over to it from Windows as my first Linux distribution, and I love it. Plus, they have their own COSMIC DE in the builds, which is exciting as well!
I was trying some distros before, but PopOS was the one I decided to go full single-boot with my daily experience. I never had problems with drivers - everything worked for me out of the box, but of course it depends of ones hardware specs. I am also very pleased by customization options - and good for learning, because of nice documentation and friendly community. Oh, and simple window tiling - very handy, great option!
I dislike pop os, it's somewhat bloated and despite being called user friendly basic functions like deleting an app are very hard.
What you mean by "deleting an app is very hard"? I have never encountered any problems with deleting an app on that OS, but maybe I was doing something wrong ;)
Superb. Minimalist friendly.
A very good viable alternative for technical users who want o use Linux for content creation or development. For basic users is a very stable system and can become very user friendly with a few small tweaks!
