Not really a chatbot per se, but it beats the pants off any search based NLP, such as Bing AI. Way better, in that it has a lot less limitations, and does not throw tantrums and leave if you point out errors. It'll take criticism positively and not only that, it's much faster, more accurate and provides many more references than others do. They also have an Android app, which blows Bing AI away in terms of speed, reliability, user friendliness and cleanliness. The interface is simple, unlike Bing's cluttered mess with all its bloat. It'll also work across platforms, through any browser, and is ad free with no account required. The accuracy is a lot better, and the few times it provides incorrect information, it'll happily double check and give you the right answer, complete with multiple references. It finishes answers before Bing can even start. As a chatbot, not much use for general chat, but if you need to find something online, no matter how bad you are with Google, this will find it.
It's not really that useful.
The outputs are inferior to the good LLM like Grok 2 and GPT 4o.
The results are primarily top results for what you search for. The same things you will get if you just do a basic search yourself.
So it doesn't actually save any time. It's just like doing a Brave search and having the ai output at the top, but in a different format.
I believe Perplexity goes through a lot more sources than Leo AI and I generally prefer it in instances where I don't need just a quick answer.
I haven't used it since the beginning of the year, but the rate AI tools are changing, reviews more than a few months old are likely not that useful anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if it is much better now.
Perplexity AI provides accurate, reliable answers quickly, and has a user-friendly interface. While there’s a slight learning curve with some advanced features, it’s a versatile and valuable tool. Highly recommended!
When asked for a current statistic, it did drag in some old references, but it still found a recent source, .. which is not an easy find. I still love Perplexity the best, but I do tend to think it shows some favoritism to Google and Microsoft in its software answers.
Found this a few days ago, and I have to say it gives answers to my question fast and truthfully. It saves me time from searching around for answers.
This has replaced duckduckgo / traditional search engines, including chatgpt, since its model data is up-to-date. Though sadly not privacy-foused like duckduckgo, but can't be as bad as Bing Chat / CoPilot / Google Gemini.
One of the best and most unique ai search engines out there now, and that's saying a lot given how many currently exist. Superior to bing chat, you.com, poe and others. I highly recommend you get the browser extension also, it is quite amazing and extends its features further, for example you can summarize the text of the page you are on; this is just one of unlimited possibilities.
