What is PDFkind?

PDFkind is a PDF editor that runs entirely in the browser. Files are processed on the user's device and are never uploaded to a server.

Unlike most free online editors, which only place new text boxes on top of a page, PDFkind edits the text that is already in the document. Click a paragraph to change it: the text reflows inside its block and keeps the document's original font, size and color, falling back to a close match when the embedded font lacks a character.

Other editing features:

  • Real redaction: the selected text and image areas are removed from the file itself, not just covered with a black box.
  • Scanned pages made editable: OCR turns a scan into live text that matches the original typeface and size, so a scanned letter can be corrected like a digital one (Latin scripts, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese).
  • Form building: add text fields, checkboxes, dropdowns and signature fields to any PDF, or fill existing forms.
  • Signatures: draw, type or upload a signature, with background removal for photographed signatures.
  • Full right-to-left support for Arabic text, both when editing and when adding new text.
  • Annotations, highlights, links, page numbers and watermarks, all saved as standard PDF content.

No account, no watermark on the result, and no file size paywall.
