inertia1200 Upvoted a comment on FileCenter as an alternative to Kofax PaperPortFileCenter lacks one very important ability of Paperport 11 - the ability to select ANY area of ANY kind of document and cut or copy it so you can paste it anywhere you like. I could find no way to do this while trying the FileCenter demo.

I was a big fan of Paperport in its early years. After it is bought by nuance, it went downhill. What is most dangerous now is that it corrupts my pdfs which renders them useless. stay away
Normally I'm not a type to write bad reviews but in that case I have to comment. I downloaded a trial and it's just cr*p. This dead horse can nobody ride anymore, even if it is not sold to another company with the hope to do something...but that´s lost hope, sorry
Is not usable on Windows 10, changed to Paperoffice, much better. Switched all my data to Paperoffice, as these, among others, offer import all Paperport data and documents.
I use it most every day on Windows 10. Had to update to 14.5 is all. I'm glad you're happy with Paperoffice but if non-usable was your only reason you bailed too quickly. I will keep Paperoffice in mind should I have the need. Do wish it was still in development, tho.

The Nuance 14.5 SE version came with my Brother printer/scanner, but it freezes constantly on Windows 10. Even while it works, what should be the active window pops under the other ones, hidden, and it's not intuitive to use for the advanced functions I need it for, like manual duplex. I'm not going to take a chance paying for 14.7 after it's been sold to yet another company.

Ugly interface, a program without new updates or features for years, unnecessary heavy and for sure will not speed up your document organizing
Yep. Gonna have to agree with the consensus here. Good idea, poor execution of said idea. It really is a good concept, but the program is truly hideous.
