What is Oaklet Notes?

Oaklet Notes puts typing, handwriting, whiteboards, tables, and math on the same page, encrypted on your own device, on Mac, Windows, Linux, iPad, iPhone, and Android.

  • A block-based rich-text editor: what you see is what you get, no markup to learn. Import and export Markdown anytime.
  • Write over your text with a pen, tablet, or mouse. Your ink moves with the line it's next to.
  • Handwriting is recognized on your device, so search finds what you wrote by hand, and you can turn it into typed text.
  • Everything is stored in an encrypted vault (AES-256-GCM) on your own disk. No account needed, and it works fully offline.
  • Optional per-note password, auto-lock, and Face ID / Touch ID unlock.
  • Wiki links, backlinks, hierarchical tags, a knowledge graph, and full-text search.
  • Sync through your own WebDAV server or one of your own computers; the server only holds encrypted files. Or send a note straight to a nearby device.
  • Export to PDF, HTML, and Word.
  • Optional AI with your own model or your own provider's key.

Free to use. An optional Pro subscription adds sync, the knowledge graph, AI writing tools, PDF / HTML / Word export, and more.
