    This is the closest alternative, more "modern" version of this text editor.

    joe_meg Notepad2-mod is built with the same Scintilla engine as Notepad++ but with a lighter feature set. It's very good if you want a very fast lightweight viewer/editor with some nice extras (syntax highlighting, word completion, line sorting etc.), but not a full on programming editor.
