NexusForge
NexusForge creates .nxs archives using content-aware compression. It classifies every file and applies reversible pre-filters to text, executable code, and audio before multi-threaded Zstd compression, delivering up to 40% smaller files than ZIP or 7z at default settings.

What is NexusForge?
NexusForge creates .nxs archives using content-aware compression. It classifies every file and applies reversible pre-filters to text, executable code, and audio before multi-threaded Zstd compression, delivering up to 40% smaller files than ZIP or 7z at default settings. Solid archives still allow instant extraction of a single file without decompressing the entire archive.
Encryption is AES-256-GCM. Each entry is independently encrypted with its own salt, nonce, and authentication tag. Tampered files are rejected immediately; a wrong password produces a clear error, never corrupted output. Chunked streaming encryption supports files of any size with low memory use.
Built-in Reed-Solomon self-repair adds recovery records (free tier 0–5%, Pro up to 100%). A corrupted archive can heal itself—the repair engine streams recovered data to a new file with live progress and no large RAM buffers.
The archive browser displays a folder tree and a grid with file names, human-readable sizes, compressed sizes, compression method (Store, Deflate, Nexus), and xxHash3 integrity checksums. In-place rename edits names without re-compressing. An extraction cache remembers opened files so subsequent access is instantaneous, even for encrypted files after the first password entry.
Extraction is streamed with separate progress bars for extraction and copy phases, full cancellation, and parallel job support. Large archives can be split into numbered parts with a manifest; merging is free, splitting is a Pro feature. Both split and merge support encrypted archives.
VirusTotal integration queries file hashes directly without extraction. A CLI (Pro) provides coloured output and real-time progress for all operations. The .nxs format is 64-bit clean, uses xxHash3 for integrity, and features extensible headers for future enhancements. Free for personal use; Pro adds higher recovery levels, CLI access, splitting, and commercial rights.
