Monitile

Windows tray utility that saves sessions with each app window’s position and monitor, then restores them when displays are docked, removed or changed. It reuses open windows to avoid duplicates; Pro adds monitor-based session switching, hotkeys and continuous capture.

What is Monitile?

Monitile saves work sessions, including open windows, their positions, and monitor location. It restores these settings at login, re-adjusting the layout when a monitor is plugged or unplugged. It prevents duplicate apps by moving already open windows back into place and launching only what's missing.

Monitile was designed to improve upon PowerToys Workspaces, offering window reuse, auto-restore at startup, and a lightweight tray app.

The free version offers unlimited sessions, restoration at login, and adjustment on monitor change. The Pro version, available for a one-time purchase without subscription or account, provides automatic session switching for connected monitors, global hotkeys Ctrl+Alt+1-9, and continuous capture.

Monitile works offline, doesn't collect data, and doesn't require admin rights. It's available in English and Italian.
