What is MindMapVault?

MindMapVault is a mind mapping and note-taking app with client-side encryption. It offers three versions: a free FOSS desktop version that doesn't require an account and stores data on your machine, a hosted version with optional encrypted sync, and a self-hosted version under AGPL-3.

The app supports FreeMind and Freeplane .mm files and exports to Markdown, PNG, and PDF. The desktop app doesn't have telemetry and the website doesn't use analytics.

The free FOSS version doesn't sync across devices unless you use the hosted or self-hosted server. It doesn't offer native mobile apps, only a browser-based experience.

The macOS version isn't notarized, so Gatekeeper blocks it on first launch until you clear the quarantine flag, as documented in the README.
