Simple to setup and use, I really like the "alternative" regions. I have an ultrawide 34" curved and prefer 3 regions for most things but sometimes want something wider. Win-key-numpad moves a window into a regular region, Adding the alt key uses the alternative layout. Using the normal maximize button on a window is overridden to go to a region unless you hold the shift key which ignores the regions and does normal layout.

What is MaxTo?

MaxTo is a window manager for Windows. It divides each of your monitors into regions you define, and then puts windows exactly where you want them — with a keyboard shortcut, or by dragging.

Instead of one fixed grid, you build the rows and columns you actually use, and they can be different on every monitor. Save the spots you reach for most as presets bound to a single key, and your layout is one keystroke away.

Features

  • Custom grids per monitor — any number of rows and columns, different on each display
  • Hotkey-driven: press one shortcut, drag out the region you want, or tap a key to apply a saved preset
  • Drag-to-snap with live zone highlighting while you move a window
  • Full multi-monitor support, including mixed resolutions and DPI scaling
  • Move windows between monitors with Page Up / Page Down
  • Runs quietly in the background — no nags, no telemetry
  • Translated into 32 languages, including right-to-left layouts

MaxTo has been developed since 2009 and is actively maintained. Version 3 supports Windows 10 and 11.

Free 14-day trial, no account required. Home is EUR 29/year or EUR 99 once for a lifetime license, each covering up to 5 of your personal PCs. A Business subscription (EUR 39/year per PC) adds volume licensing and covers domain-joined, Entra-joined and MDM-enrolled work devices.
