I have absolutely loved Monosnap for almost a decade but I'm a windows user and over the past few years the RAM usage crashes got worse and worse but I didn't want to switch to a new system like Loom as I don't need all kinds of advanced features and bloat, I just want the same lightning fast screenshot annotator I'm used to but without needing to worry about freezing/crashes as I regularly have 10 - 20 screenshot annotation windows open at a time. Maxisnap information
What is Maxisnap?
Maxisnap is a lightweight screenshot tool for Windows 10 and 11. Optimized for multiple concurrent screenshot annotation windows to minimize RAM load and prevent the memory leaks/crashes that can occur during heavy usage in some screenshot tools. Set hotkeys to image or video region capture or full screen, annotate with 11 tools including blur and numbered steps, then save, copy, or upload to Maxisnap Cloud (100 free uploads/month), or your own SFTP, FTP, S3/R2, or HTTP server/website using the Maxisnap Studio easy-deploy dashboard. It also records the screen with system audio and microphone, and has AI Mode to automatically optimize image/video screen-recordings for one-click pasting into Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini CLI. Free forever for capture, annotation, and recording; Pro is $18/year for unlimited cloud uploads; Studio is a one-time $20 self-hosting add-on.

Finding this program was a godsend as it's everything I loved about monosnap but it never freezes up even when I have 20-30 windows open. I'm on the free version and there's nothing I need more than this for my workflow.
