Manyverse
A social network off the grid
What is Manyverse?
Manyverse is a social network app using the SSB protocol (Secure Scuttlebutt) where you can write posts and share with friends nearby or over the internet. It's different from mainstream social networks because your data is yours, it lives on your phone, not in the cloud. So there is no login, no company holding your data, no ads, no tracking of your activity, it's just you and your friends! The app is free and open source software, and it will always remain free.
Features: Write posts (even when offline) Share posts to friends over the internet or nearby (in the same Wi-Fi or with Bluetooth) Scroll through many conversations with friends and add your own comments Likes More features as we develop the app!

Said about Manyverse as an alternative
Different take on decentralisation for social networks.
Fediverse (Mastodon and other ActivityPub compatible software) is a lot more practical, but Manyverse has interesting idea, and can be used as a fun little novelty for groups that already gather in person, also brings nostalgia about old local networks/bluetooth sharing

A beautiful app, very user friendly with the main idea of a descentralized social network. Our data is our data. No ads, no clouds and p2p, WiFi and Bluetooth connections to find another friend

Exactly how a social media platform should work in my opinion. Everything about it is so good.
Posts are not public by default, which is one of the best things about it. However, networking is still there, you can scroll through posts of the friends of your friends, which is a feature that can be turned off.
