UI = User Interface UX = User eXperience Most open source apps offer out-dated or classic material design UI. If the apps works great and the UX is not terrible you might find it okay. But intuitive UI are better, and modern looking ones are pleasant to use, sadly they are not the majority. Here is my list of Beautiful Open Source Apps for your android device ! Apps are listed in alphabetical order ! So this list is only based on my taste of what is a good modern looking app. While open source is great for privacy and security it is not perfect. So keep that in mind before downloading any apps. I again encourage you to do your own research about them and read their Privacy Policies. I am not a privacy and security expert. I'm also don't consider myself as a developper so I do not have any technical knowledge and so I didn't look into any source code of any apps in this list !

A list of apps I use on GrapheneOS, but most also make sense on other operating systems. Install "F-Droid Basic" and Obtainium, add a few repos to F-Droid by searching for "F-Droid known repositories"

What is LinkSheet?

  • Set preferred browser: Always list all browsers, only list native apps, always list selected browser, only list whitelisted browsers
  • Preferred app for host: Set app to always open for selected host
  • List apps which have verified links so you can easily disable them to allow LinkSheet to work
  • Include usage stats and "last app used history" in sorting algorithm
  • Copy url button in bottom sheet which copies the current url to the clipboard
  • Share To button in bottom sheet which sends a "Share To" intent to other apps
  • Single tap: Only require a single tap in bottom sheet to open app
  • Always show package name: Shows package names all throughout the application
  • Disable toast: Disables all toast messages
  • Display apps in grid instead of list
  • Resolve redirects either locally or via API hosted @ supabase.com (Supabase Privacy policy), API itself does not log anything except timestamp
  • Experimental: ClearURLs integration (removes tracking parameters)
  • Experimental: FastFoward rule integration (extracts redirects from url parameters)
