Many smart and useful features, good UX, no ads/paywalls.

What is Kinoku?

Kinoku is a private workout and running tracker built for lifters, runners, and people who do both. It keeps your lifts, runs, steps, and metrics in one place. Core training works on your phone without an account, and no Kinoku server holds your training history.

The free plan is a complete app rather than a trial. Nothing caps your workouts, routines, history, or runs, and no plan carries ads. You get 1,300 or more exercises plus your own, a muscle map, stats, and achievements. The whole periodization system is free as well: a builder, a template gallery, and named plans like 5/3/1, GZCLP (a beginner barbell program), and nSuns. The calendar has no limit on plans, and GPS runs, Health Connect, Wear OS, 20 of the 26 themes, backup, and file import are all in there too.

Every score the app shows has its formula on the website, with references, so you can check the math instead of trusting it. Your training record stays on the phone, because there is no account and no sync server to put it on.

Pro is the one optional extra. It adds run analytics, zone training, a route heatmap, readiness from sleep and heart rate variability (HRV), calendar power tools, the Pro Analytics hub, and the 6 Pro themes. The app works without it, comes in 10 languages, and nothing that ships free moves behind Pro later.

A few limits are worth knowing before you install. Kinoku runs on Android and Wear OS only, and two phones do not share a live record, because a backup is a file you own and move yourself. The app has no social feed and no follower list. Offline has edges as well, since map tiles load when you open a map, weather is an opt-in call, and Google Play handles billing.
