    Self-hosted open source password management. Needs a server (KeepassXC only needs a kdbx file). Still, beats LastPass by a mile.

    It has a very practical free plan, open source, encrypted, and available on all platforms. There is this wonderful feature to create memorable passwords, folders, and allies that go back to the main email. What more could I want?

    Good companion app for Android, with a clean interface and autofill support for both apps and websites. Easy to sync with a desktop DB running KeePassXC using the cloud service of your choice. Both apps keep their local copies updated as they change and have been surprisingly good at merging changes when they get out of sync.

    KeePassX is great, but KeePassXC is a fork of it that stays open source, offline and fully functional whilst ALSO running equally well on Linux, Mac and Windows AND offering browser integration with PassIFox and ChromeIPass. Simply, I no longer see the argument for KeePassX now that KeePassXC is here.
