What is Jylos?

Jylos is a local-first personal knowledge management application inspired by tools such as Obsidian.

It combines Markdown note-taking, wiki-links, backlinks, graph visualization, Kanban boards, workspaces, plugin support and advanced search in a desktop application built with Java and JavaFX.

Users can store their knowledge either as Markdown files or in a SQLite database, import existing vaults and keep complete ownership of their data.

Jylos is open source, works offline and does not require cloud services or user accounts.

Additional features include Mermaid diagram support, note encryption, Git-based vault synchronization, customizable themes, CSS snippets and workspace management.
