jdsp4mac runs libjamesdsp, the audio engine behind JamesDSP for Linux and Android, on everything your Mac plays. It lives in the menu bar and captures audio with a Core Audio process tap, so there's no driver or kernel extension to install.
It has bass boost, a 15-band FIR or IIR equalizer, AutoEQ with a built-in headphone search, a convolver for impulse responses, BS2B and HRTF crossfeed, ViPER-DDC, reverb, stereo width, a vacuum tube stage and liveprog scripts.
Presets from JamesDSP for Linux, RootlessJamesDSP and JamesDSP for Android import as they are. Each output device can have its own preset, and you can pick apps that skip the effects, such as FaceTime for calls. A command-line tool, jdspctl, works with Shortcuts and Raycast.
Free and open source under GPLv3. Needs Apple silicon and macOS 14.4 or later.
