Combined the Advanced EQ with my EarPods response profile from Rtings.com to correct the audio flaws and make it more "flat". Sounds Great now! Like getting a new phone.
I read in the site about the free version this-that, so I assume there was a free version, but it's just one incomplete version which a little naggy and with bright distracting upsell buttons which I'm sure classic aesthetically-minded Mac users would love.
Download is through mail link; huge red flag. Fortunately the open source claim usually needs some backing up: it's on Homebrew, no email. Set Little Snitch to always block thought, because before it finishes it'll start the connections attempts. It's an eq app, why does it need the Internet?
Then there's the app itself. Most of it was hidden, it took a little (un)checking of boxes to get them to show again. My guess is it was thrown off expecting to have an Internet connection and when it didn't it just stayed there as little title bar of a window without the window about to show some popup that never came...with a giant ad that says "Pro". Who knows.
In the end it wasn't more featured than Airfoil or VLC.
Stats-crazed devs should know the domains they use for collecting data are already flagged, even if Little Snitch wasn't installed, the firewalls would've stopped that, in my experience, users that know how to config these protections are also the users that actually pay for software--speaking of payments: a subscription for an equalizer? Really?! What's the service if it runs locally. Is it for updates? Once an app of this type is done, that's it. It should need no more development.
Unfortunately cannot say that I do like it, it's fauxpen source with frequent crashes affecting system stability (check github issues). The developer's ethics in continuing to take in money are questionable at best.
I couldnt get this to work even with the driver installed, but my macbooks requires a USB soundcard and I can't use the onboard one, so that maybe why
[Edited by s0me0ne, November 04] UPDATE: I did get it to work on my laptop for work
