It's iAWriter is lightweight, fast and completely macOS (not some kind of weird Electron cross-platform app like so many editors today). You can copy your texts out as Markdown, HTML or formatted. Or save as Markdown or export in other formats. When a writer gets to know iAWriter it's like a perfect tool or sports instrument, it's balanced and weightless in your hand. Updates are free (at least for many, many years) and frequent.

Android app is poorly implemented. Cannot open markdown files, can barely browse device files.
Meybe on mac is ok but on Windows this editor is buged super laggy bad port and so anoing, same as on Android. Apple cant write any app on windows coz he dont know how... My PC is OP 32GB ram RTX2060super with 8GB ram and M2 drive still simple Markdown editor cant run properly, shame... And i must add Polish spell check manualy.
I buy version on windows and is shity as hell port is broken super slow program laggy as hell i cant write with full speed coz i not see what i typy in real time... This is joke. Meybe on mac work good but on win 10 not... I must add polish ductionary coz not implemented out of box and if i use pdf wiev is not auto updated ony i must press refresh button. So bad. And no cheep.
Good that Android app is free. This is a fuss free Markdown writing. But I don't like that their desktop version is paid. But at least due to the text format you are not tied to them. You can edit your files using any other app in desktop.
Very nice iOS interface, can handle Files app.
Even the spelling correction/word replacement works better than native, quite noticeably.
It's really cross-platform-capable. Since it pushes .md files into Dropbox, etc., you can use an also-great Typora on Windows, Mac, Linux.
Altogether smooth to use -- so that you just pick it up, for writing....
