Hydra Torrent is a free, open-source BitTorrent client for people who run Plex or Jellyfin at home.
It does two things most clients leave to other tools. When a download finishes, it sorts movies, TV and anime into the right library folders and tells Plex or Jellyfin to scan. And it binds torrent traffic to your VPN interface, so if the tunnel drops, every transfer pauses until the VPN is back.
You also get search through your own Jackett (Hydra ships with no indexers), RSS rules that pick up new episodes, a live map of where your peers are, and the choice of which files to download before anything starts.
It runs as a Windows app with a tray icon, a Linux service, or Docker, with a browser UI for all of them. Nothing is required to get started, and Jackett and Plex or Jellyfin are optional.
There is no login screen yet, so keep it on your own network or behind a VPN. The Windows exe is not code-signed, so SmartScreen will warn on first run.
