Working in the creative industry but don't want to use Adobe products?
For quite a long time, I've been looking into entirely ditching Adobe Creative Cloud products because of the price (€60/month), the subscription model, the fact that you have to use their Creative Cloud in order to use their software and to sync anything, the way Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign are bloated, the fact that often you can't use the software if you don't have an Internet connection because Adobe must be able to check your license… and so on and so on.
For a long time, their software were amazing and above everything on the market, but now, Adobe software feel like old complicated bloated tools to me. And, so I took my courage with both hands, uninstalled all Adobe products on my computer, canceled my subscription and deleted my Behance and Adobe accounts.
I've since then replaced all Adobe software with the following ones:

When creating a YouTube channel, one of the first things that you need to think about is your equipment. There are over 100 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute, and in order for you to stand out, you will need some equipment that will help you do that.
There are 3 different things that are crucial to have before uploading your first video: a microphone, a camera, and some video software.
In this post, we're going to talk about software that can help you launch your YouTube channel. This first post will be oriented toward macOS, but a similar post for Windows and Linux will be published in the following weeks.

If you'd like to edit your videos like a professional and don't have money to invest in very expensive software, you should use HitFilm Express.
It's perfect for beginners and intermediate editors. If you want to add some extensions, the cost is very accessible which makes HitFilms Express even more powerful.
Easy to learn. The official youtube channel is full of tutorials.
You can edit videos, also compose them. Accept 3D and lot's of effects are included for free + extensions packages with lower cost.
I use it in all my videos, some viewers think I'm using Premiere and After Effects, but nop! I'm only using HitFilm Express.
Is there really no perpetual license for HitFilm anymore?

HitFilm has come a long way in the past few years, adding GPU acceleration, higher resolutions, greatly improved speed and stability, better motion tracking, 3D environment workflows (not just 3D animation, but tracking 2D footage to add 3D objects, backgrounds etc), better sound, and compatibility with files and plugins from other film editing software ecosystems. The free version does not cone with the best plugins, nor does it have the best motion tracking built-in, but it is still a very capable non-linear and composite editor, as well as allowing 3D animations. Well worth a try, you will be impressed.
It provides a rather impressive number of features. I've used this software for two years and I got used to the software in about a month or two with no prior editing software experience. This can possibly rival much of the professional software out there. Best of all; it's free. Great software.
