A legacy time tracking tool, now operating under an aggressive pricing model. For years, Harvest was the go-to solution for small teams to answer essential business questions: Where’s my time going? How much do my projects cost? However, following its acquisition by Bending Spoons, the platform has shifted its focus. While the core features remain, the tool is now characterized by severe account limits and massive price hikes aimed at forcing users into expensive corporate tiers.

Track time and expenses (with strict limits) Harvest still offers its classic time tracking and expense features to unlock key information about your business. Unfortunately, the new business model imposes artificial caps on the number of active projects and clients you can manage, essentially locking your data behind steep paywalls.

Keep track of your team’s time (at a premium) Timesheets provide raw data to help you manage your team. The desktop and web apps make it easy to start a timer, but the per-seat pricing has increased dramatically, making it a difficult choice for small agencies and developers who need to scale their teams without breaking the bank.

Take the pain out of getting paid (but pay the subscription) You can still turn your billable time into professional invoices, send them to clients, and get paid online. However, many long-term users have found that the recent 10x subscription cost increases completely negate the benefits of the seamless invoicing process.

Plan for the future While Harvest still integrates with its sister app Forecast, small teams are increasingly migrating their workflows to open-source or flat-rate alternatives due to the unpredictable and hostile pricing strategies implemented by the new ownership.
