What is HankoSign?

HankoSign is electronic signature software for people who need documents signed, not a platform to administer. Upload a PDF or Word document, place the fields, and send. Signers receive an email and sign in their browser — no account, no app, no download.

HankoSign is designed to meet the federal ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), adopted in 49 states and D.C. Completed documents are digitally sealed using PKI, so any later alteration is detectable, with trusted timestamps issued by a third-party timestamp authority. Every completed envelope carries a Certificate of Completion — recording who signed, when, and from which IP address, along with a SHA-256 hash of the signed content — appended inside the signed PDF itself, so the evidence travels with the document.

Included on every plan, including the free tier: PDF and Word upload with automatic conversion, multiple signers signing in sequence or in parallel, signed PDFs downloadable individually or as a zip, and the full audit trail.

Paid plans add reusable templates and folders, the ability to collect documents back from signers, and a REST API with HMAC-signed webhooks.

Built and operated independently.
