What is Grape AI Notes?

Grape is an AI note-taking app for macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, and Android. Notes are stored locally for offline use, and the free plan does not require an account. It supports cross-device sync, daily backups, semantic search, backlinks, graph view, themes, and imports from Apple Notes, Evernote, and Markdown. Notes can be exported as Markdown, HTML, or PDF.

Its AI tools can answer questions from workspace content, summarize meeting notes, organize notes into folders and tags, and search the web in chat. The desktop and mobile apps can record and transcribe audio; speaker identification is available on Pro. Study tools create flashcards, adaptive quizzes, mind maps, infographics, and slide decks from notes. Other features include a drawing canvas, Apple Pencil handwriting notebooks with on-device recognition, PDF annotation, a Chrome web clipper, and mobile sharing sheets.

Grape includes AES-256 end-to-end encrypted locked notes, shared folders with live typing, and an MCP server for ChatGPT and Claude to read and write notes. It integrates with Notion, Linear, Todoist, Airtable, and GitLab, and provides a CLI and developer API. AI can use personal keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Ollama, LM Studio, and other providers, or the built-in Grape AI. The free plan includes unlimited notes; Sync, Plus, and Pro are paid plans, while Lifetime is a one-time option for users who provide their own AI keys.
