What is SketchUp?
SketchUp (formerly Google Sketchup) is a 3D modeling computer program for a wide range of drawing applications such as architectural, interior design, civil and mechanical engineering, film, and video game design—and available in a freeware version, SketchUp Make, and a paid version with additional functionality, SketchUp Pro.
SketchUp comes with a 3D Gallery that lets you search for models and share yours. These are any type of model that you can imagine: furniture, houses, cars, statues…

erty Upvoted a comment on FreeCAD as an alternative to SketchUpSketchup is for quick drawing, to think in 3D. Not for blueprints or super accurate things. Freecad can resolve constraints but is anything but intuitive of fast. They can't be compared.
The old version of SketchUp without their idiotic new business model gets 5 stars.

ease of use, pro version wasnt too expensive. sadly theyve gone webapp so im sticking with a good ole fashion installed version.
Can be used for most 3D applications (general purpose), but is fairly mediocre in almost all of them due to its conplete lack of powerful tools and operations.
SketchUp has been bought out from Google by Trimble, with the only goal to make as much cash as they can. Since then, SketchUp has been a useless trash app, used as cash-cow to trap unadvised users, thinking it is the same old tool. Don't fall for this scam, there is much better for cheaper elsewhere.
Sketchup is really good to quickly draw some ideas in 3D at actual scale. "Much better for cheaper elsehwere."? Ok. Can you provide some names?

As others have mentioned the older version is quite capable. "Self-taught" aka watch YouTube tutorials and some patience is what you need to start using this amazing piece of software.
The new business model is absolute trash, you can download the old offline app from archive.org
