What is Gander?

Gander is a free, open-source file viewer for Android. It asks for no permissions and has no internet access, so there are no ads, no accounts and no analytics.

It opens PDFs (including password-protected ones), Word (.docx and .doc), Excel and CSV, PowerPoint (.pptx), OpenDocument text, Rich Text, Markdown, text and code, photos, video, audio, ZIP archives (browsed in place, nothing extracted) and 3D models (.stl), all rendered on the phone. Files arrive through Android's file picker, "Open with", or a folder you grant once. Find in document works across PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, slides and text. About 5 MB, Android 8.0 and up, MIT licensed.

It's a viewer, not an editor, and old .ppt files don't open.
