What is Foxclone?
An image backup, restore and clone tool. Foxclone is a front end for partclone written in Pascal using the Lazarus IDE.
Foxclone is a Linux based image backup, restore and clone tool using a simple point and click interface. It takes images of the partitions on your hard drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD) and stores them for later restoration. Image files can optionally be compressed to save space. Foxclone is a front end for the Linux terminal utility partclone.
It cannot be stressed strongly enough – a partition backup utility such as foxclone or clonezilla or any other image backup tool should not be used as your only backup tool.
Said about Foxclone as an alternative
It's free, under Linux, very convenient for most of cloning/imaging disks, easier to understand than Clonezilla. But I'm not sure it handles LVM (which is not the most of needs).
Comments and Reviews
Foxclone 0.50 (ISO for the standard version) did not recognize the source drives with ext4 file system which were connected to my machine, no matter if internal or external (unknown partition table type), so cloning was not possible. What a pity!
