Foreman is described as 'Open source project that helps system administrators manage servers throughout their lifecycle, from provisioning and configuration to orchestration and monitoring. Using Puppet or Chef and Foreman's smart proxy architecture, you can easily automate repetitive' and is an app in the os & utilities category. There are more than 25 alternatives to Foreman for a variety of platforms, including Linux, Windows, Mac, Web-based and Self-Hosted apps. The best Foreman alternative is OpenTofu, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Foreman are Terraform, DCImanager, GLPI and pyinfra.


Foreman does the logic plus WUI, while TerraForm is more a framework to make things happen. If TerraForm is listed here, then ALL scripting languages should be listed {Bash, ksh, csh, tsh, fish, lshell, rshell and so on}.


DCImanager automates dedicated server provisioning, multivendor infrastructure, and colocation. Features: OS installation, IP assignment, traffic/energy monitoring, SAN/NAS management, bulk BIOS/BMC updates, auto-discovery, DC map, self-service portal, billing integration.




Its interface is much better and easier to use
