File Shredder is a good eraser application.

The downside is that it does not "shred" the directory table entry after you have shredded a file.
This means that directory names, but not files, are recoverable.

File names are recoverable too. It appears Recuva also leaves file names intact. I guess I'll have to look at Eraser again.
