failover.io is an uptime monitoring service built around one principle: the alert is a chain, not a single ping. Configure a sequence of channels per monitor — email, SMS, voice call, Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, webhook, ntfy — and each step waits for an explicit acknowledgment. No ack? The alert escalates to the next channel.

Built for solo operators and small engineering teams who can't afford to miss an outage at 3 AM. Free tier covers 5 monitors with no credit card required — only email signup.

Monitor check types: HTTP/HTTPS with status code, response time, body keyword, and SSL expiry assertions. JSON-RPC monitoring for Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin Core, or any JSON-RPC 2.0 service. Heartbeat/cron monitoring for scheduled jobs that ping in. Custom headers (up to 20) for authenticated endpoints.

Alerting: cascading chains with drag-and-drop UI, configurable wait time per step, on-call schedules with daily/weekly/biweekly/monthly rotations and one-click overrides.

Status pages: public pages showing monitor state and incident history, with a one-click iframe embed for your own site or docs.
