Said about Disconnect as an alternative
Ghostery drastically hurts the performance of Firefox on my system. Disconnect seems to improve performance.
Ditch "free" Ghostery, which sells your browsing data if you don't opt out of GhostRank during setup. Instead, go for these open source alternatives: PrivacyBadger (EFF supported, open source tracker blocker), Disconnect (open source tracker blocker) and uBlock Origin (open source ad blocker).
