What is Depflush?

Depflush shows where the space on a developer's Mac went and frees it safely.

  • Docker: asks Docker which images, containers and volumes are in use and only preselects build cache and images you can pull again.
  • Dependencies: node_modules and vendor folders in projects untouched for 12 months, only when a package.json or composer.lock sits next to them. Restore them with npm install or composer install.
  • Caches: 30+ locations, including browsers, Slack, VS Code, npm, Composer, pip, Gradle, Xcode DerivedData, Homebrew and caches of old JetBrains IDE versions.
  • Duplicates: photos and videos compared byte for byte; one original always stays. The Photos library, APFS clones and iCloud files that are not downloaded are skipped.

Every item is shown with its size before anything happens, risky items are never preselected, and everything goes to the Trash by default. No account, no analytics, no network calls.

macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple Silicon and Intel. English, German and French. GPL-3.0.
