Install from the command line

  • winget install -e --id vshulcz.deja-vu
  • brew install deja-vu

Be careful what you paste into a terminal. Check what a command installs before running it.

What is deja-vu?

deja-vu indexes the session transcripts that coding agents already write to disk (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, opencode and 36 more), including months of history from before you installed it. When an agent hits a problem you already solved in another session or another agent, deja hands that earlier fix back through hooks and an MCP server. It is a single Go binary with a BM25 index: no LLM, no embeddings, no account, and nothing leaves the machine. It also searches, resumes, exports and restores deleted sessions from the command line.
