Comments about Google Play Books as an Alternative to calibre
Other than being an e-book store, it also allows PDF and EPUB files to be uploaded and they become available on all devices with Google Play Books. The reader is pretty great as well.
Allows epub-format books to be uploaded, at which point they become available on all devices you have GPB installed on. I use this for all my public-domain (Gutenberg, Azora-bunko, etc) ebook reading.
google play books is nowhere near the same as calibre
Google Play books isn't an ePub reader. You need to buy books to use it.
You cannot buy books to put onto a regular ereader from this, it is for Android tablets/phones only.
