There are more than 50 alternatives to BurnAware for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Linux, BSD, Mac and Xfce. Most alternatives are CD and DVD Burners. The best alternative is Rufus, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like BurnAware are ImgBurn (Free), CDBurnerXP (Free Personal), Brasero (Free, Open Source) and InfraRecorder (Free, Open Source).

    1. Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc.
    2. ImgBurn is a lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application (39 languages) that everyone should have in their toolkit. ImgBurn supports a wide range of image file formats. It can burn Audio CDs from any file type supported via DirectShow / ACM.

      Discontinued

      Even if the developer, in a post on the official forum dated February 2015 (http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?/topic/21614-imgburn-v2580-released/page-2#entry155228), said the project is not dead, the last version of ImgBurn, 2.5.8.0, was released years ago, on the 16th June 2013. It can be still downloaded from the official website and works on Windows 10.
