What is Brivacia?
Brivacia is a lightweight, self-hosted web analytics tool built for developers and small businesses who want real visitor insights without sending data to a third party. Instead of a JavaScript tracking script and cookies, Brivacia uses a tiny server-side pixel (under 400 bytes, no separate file to load) to record visits — no persistent visitor profiles, no cross-day tracking, no personal data leaving your own server. What you get:
- Unique visitors, visits, pageviews, bots, and day-over-day trends
- Top pages, countries, search engines and referrers — with automatic icons and human-friendly labels
- Multi-site tracking from a single dashboard
- Full-text search-friendly transparency widget so visitors can see exactly what's recorded about them
- Import from Matomo, plus a "legacy statistics" mode to bring in historical totals without dragging along old URLs or -tracking noise
- Automatic backups, corruption recovery, and yearly data archiving — all handled for you
- Two-factor authentication, CSRF protection, and a hardened admin login
- Available in French and English, with a public AGPL license
Runs on PHP 8.1+ and SQLite — no external database server, no third-party dependencies. The entire application weighs under 500 KB, and the dashboard itself is under 55 KB of CSS/JS combined. If you've outgrown a basic visit counter but don't want the complexity — or the data-sharing — of Google Analytics or a hosted SaaS tool, Brivacia sits right in between: simple to self-host, genuinely private by design, and light enough to run comfortably on shared hosting.
