Ocenaudio has all the editing capabilities of Audacity but wrapped in a much more streamlined, modern and intuitive interface. It's not open-source, but it's free, doesn't have ads, is also cross-platform and runs fast at native speed.

A great alternative to Audacity, if you don't need multi-track editing.

I needed to do spectral analysis of an audio file, but audacity didn't support hidpi. Ocenaudio does, and overall it is capable and pleasing to use.

It's a fork of Audacity started when they added some questionable privacy policy changes.

An excellent app for cleaning up audio recordings / noise removal, but not an audio editor, so not really an alternative for Audacity.
