They added insane pricing for Self Hosting, only allowing 1 for all but team plan, meaning for use with my family I have to pay 60$ per month for 6 users. When I am hosting on my own hardware, and not using their AI crap.

Also the editor is still garbage and not following basic keybinds for text editing. cmd/ctrl + left or right should not take me to the beginning of the line but jump word for word.

Comments and Reviews

Comment summary: AppFlowy shows promise with smooth performance, privacy focus, and open-source foundations (Rust and Dart). Users praise its potential as a Notion alternative but note missing basic features, some bugs, and limitations such as lack of tags and advanced reminders. Concerns include restrictive commercial licensing for team/on-premise use and high self-hosting costs. Usability issues and editor limitations also affect user satisfaction.

It simply has the potential to be the successor of Notion.

I had really high hopes for AppFlowy, but it is not worth the cost or time I have put into this app. I guess I once again is looking for a documentation and collaboration tool, that I can use with my family.

Limited on-premise team use for this open-source project; requires a commercial license.

Good potential, but they ignore basic features like #tags that every other program supports. Maybe it will become usable when they start fixing the bugs people upvote. I so wish I could finally drop logseq

A little confused why I can't add new groups when there's a plus sign and line to do so, Every time i type it disappears, but cards have no problem. Board and calendar listings are separate and don't move to eachother. The program Elisi has them integrated. Wouldn't work for my Android.. I guess because it's older.

Hi!

  1. You'll need to press Enter to create a new group in Kanban
  2. If two views are created from the same database, they are linked. For more details, please refer to our guide: https://appflowy.com/guide/views-filters-and-sorts

Let's try self-hosting with AppFlowy Cloud

Performance is very smooth compared to Affine and LogSeq, there is potential to use Rust, and Dart for native compatibility.

I also like its greater emphasis on privacy compared to Affine, and its greater features compared to LogSeq.
