Amie Street was an Indie online music store with social network features offering cheap music downloads and streams. One of its most distinguishable features was that songs would usually start at 0 Cent and raise with every download to a maximum of just under 1 USD.
The service was operational between 2006 and 2010. In early September 2010 Amazon, being an early investor in Amie Street before, acquired the service and shut it down on September 22nd 2010. As of this date the website redirects to the Amazon online store. Active users will receive a 5$ bonus on the Amazon music store.
The company behind Amie Street bearing the same name, has announced to shift its focus to its second online music service, songza.com (
Songza ), which had been acquired by Amie Street in the year 2008.

Comments and Reviews
The great thing about Amie Street is that all songs start out free, and gradually rise in price (to a maximum of 98 cents) the more they are purchased. There’s no DRM, so you can download a song as many times as you like, and install it on as many devices as you like. Plus you can earn credit by recommending songs.
